Shortly after the Amazon Kindle Fire was released, the Android dev community quickly jumped on it and root was quickly achieved that gave us the Android Market and even CyanogenMod 7.
Amazon promised a much needed update (6.2.1) that we reported about last week. It’s now live, which brings performance enhancements along with the ability to remove recently viewed items from the carousel on the home screen. This is great news for all the non hackers out there, but for those that are rooted, you need to know that this update removes root priviledges, and unfortunately you can’t just re-root it using the SuperOneClick utility.
We’re sure root will be back, but unfortunately we can’t tell you when. If you haven’t taken the update yet, and you want to still root and possibly flash CyanogenMod 7, then please checkout our earlier posts and guides below.
